'Guru' made tax-free in UP

Lucknow, Feb 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today made the much-talked about Mani Ratnam's latest film 'Guru' tax-free in the state for a period of three months.

A decision to exempt 'Guru' from Entertainment Tax was taken here at the meeting of state cabinet presided over by the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Abhishek Bachchan has essayed the title role in 'Guru' which is loosely based on the life of business tycoon late Dhirubhai Ambani.

Earlier, almost every film starring Big B Amitabh Bachchan and his son had been exempted from tax by the state government.

Black, Baghban, Babul and Bunty and Bubbly are in the list of films, which were earlier exempted from ET.
