Centre will take steps to protect Dalits' rights: Meira Kumar

Vijayawada, Feb 6 (UNI) Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Meira Kumar has said the Centre would take all steps to protect the rights of Dalits in the country.

Addressing a function at Challapalli in Krishna district yesterday, the Minister said she would whole-heartedly try to solve the problems faced by them.

Challapalli Legislator Meka Venkata Pratap Appa Rao also attended the function.

Madiga Reservation Porta Samithi Founder President Manda Krishna Madiga urged the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna on late Dalit Leader Babu Jagjivan Ram.
