Centre asks state to give performance report on 20-point prog
New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today directed all the States and the district implementing agencies to ensure proper, timely and correct reporting of the 14 programmes, identified under the restructured 20-point programme, for effective monitoring and follow-up action.
Addressing a review meeting, the minister asked the State representatives to ensure strict monitoring of the programmes coming under NREGA, PMGSY, IAY, SGSY, ARWSP, TSC, Area Development Programme, Alienation of Tribal Land and Land distribution.
Through the restructured Twenty Point Programme, monitoring of major programmes of the Ministry will now get further impetus.
The Central Government has restructured the Twenty Point Programme for effective monitoring of the objectives set in the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP), the Millennium Development Goals of the UN and the SAARC Social Charter.
Based on the restructured Twenty Point Programme 2006, the Ministry of Rural Development is responsible for implementation of programmes pertaining to Garibi Hatao (Poverty Eradication), Support to Farmers, Food Security, Housing for All, Clean Drinking Water, Health for All, Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities and OBCs, Social Security and Rural Roads programmes.
In the restructured Twenty Point Programme 2006, 66 programmes have been identified for strict monitoring, out of which 14 programmes pertain to the Ministry of Rural Development.
