Birlasoft launches global centre in Noida
New Delhi, Feb 6: Birlasoft, the IT arm of 1.2-billion-dollar C K Birla Group, today said it will open two new software centres near its just launched global headquarters in Noida.
Each of the facilities will seat 1,000 employees and will be ready by August 2007.
''We intend having specific locations for each area of focus, creating a unique working culture and ethos,'' Birlasoft Chief Financial Officer K S Ananthanarayanan said.
The Noida global headquarters, established at an outlay of Rs 23 crore, is spread over 92,000 square feet area. It has a seating capacity of 700 employees.
It will accommodate the corporate staff and a part of technical employees.
''The new building will highlight Birlasoft as a learning organisation. Significant investment has been made towards this end,'' the company said.
Birlasoft has added atleast one facility each year and the manpower has more than doubled to 4000. The headcount is expected to reach the 6000 mark by March 2008.
The company already has centers in Noida, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
