Assembly adjourned following death of sitting MLA
Bangalore, Feb 6 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly was today adjourned after paying rich tributes to a sitting Congress MLA U T Farid, 69, who died this morning.
Speaker Krishna in his obituary reference said Mr Farid from Ullal constituency was an active politician and had contributed to the welfare of the minority community.
Congress members led by Leader of Oppostition in the Assembly N Dharam Singh paid rich tributes to the departed leader in the House.
Mr Farid died after a prolong illness in Ullal today.
The members also observed one minute silence as a mark of repect to the departed leader.
The Speaker adjourned the House till tomorrow to mourn the death of the four-time sitting MLA.
