Ali still struggling for life in 80 feet well in south JK
Srinagar, Feb 6: A massive operation was going on for the past 48 hours to rescue a man from a 80-foot-deep well at Shopian, about 52 km from here, in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said one Ali Mohammad Shah fell into 80 foot deep well at Gulgam village in Shopian yesterday morning when he was digging a tube-well.
He said army, police and civil administration were making all out efforts to rescue Ali Mohammad from the well.
The condition of Ali Mohammad was not immediately known, he said, adding that oxygen was being supplied inside the well through a pipe.
Official sources said an expert tried to enter the well last evening after tying himself with a rope. However, he was pulled out after he complained of breathing problems.
Today an another expert was summoned who will try to enter the well alongwith oxygen, sources said.
