A militant surrender before police in Kashmir after brief encounter
Srinagar, Feb 6 (UNI) A militant today surrendered before police after a brief enounter at Handwara in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said.
He said security forces and police launched a joint operation at a village in Handwara in north Kashmir today after receiving a tip off that a militant was hiding there.
A militant inside the house opened fire on security forces.
However, he was persuaded to surrender by the police and locals.
The militant identified as Sajjad Ahmad later surrendered before Superintendent of Police (SP) along with arms and ammunition.
