806 candidates, including 55 women remain in party

Dehradun, Feb 6 (UNI) After scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations, in all 806 candidates including 55 women, remain for the Assembly election slated to be held in Uttarakhand on February 21.

For Tehri Lok Sabha by-Election which is also scheduled to be held on the same day, 10 candidates are in the fraiy after withdrawal of nominations.

According to the Chief Election Office, Laldhang constituency in Haridwar district has the highest 24 number of candidates and Chakrata constituency in Dehradun District and Mukteshwar constituency in Nainital District have the lowest candidates -- four each Out of total 7491 polling booths in the state, 1059 polling booths have been identified as 'sensitive' and 838 'over sensitive'.

Dehradun District's Doiwala constituency has the highest 1, 71,169 voters and Kanalichhina constituency in Pithoragarh district has the lowest-46,435 voters.

In the last Assembly election there were 927 candidates including 72 women. This time the number of women candidates has considerably gone down.
