5 policemen killed, 2 injured in UP road mishaps
Lucknow, Feb 6: At least five police personnel, including a sub-inspector, were killed and two others grievously injured in separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh late last night.
Police today said the mishap occurred on Delhi-Agra National Highway under Kosi Kala police station area of Mathura district, where a police jeep collided head-on with a truck.
Three cops died on the spot. The two injured were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The deceased were identified as constables Ankit, Satya Praksh and Satbeer Singh.
In another incident at the Hardoi Railway Station, a sub inspector was run over by the Guwahati Express.
Later, a constable was killed after the speedy vehicle, in which he was travelling, rammed into a bus in Lakhimpur Kheri.
The cases were registered.
