25 women elected to AMC

Akola, Feb 6 (UNI) The new 71-member Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) has 25 women members.

However this has been owing to the reservations under various categories for the women. The Congress official candidate, Mrs Usha Virak, got elected for the fourth time in a row from a general ward.

Among the women to get elected to the AMC. eight belong to the Congress, three from NCP, four from BJP, two from the Shiv Sena and two from Mr Prakash Ambedkar-led BRP-BMS. The others to win are independents.
