Truck terminals for capital city
Hyderabad, Feb 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and the Revenue Department to identify suitable lands at ten places near the outer ring road for establishing truck terminals.
He said the lands should not be less than 50 acres in area, preferably government land. The Chief Minister wanted the HUDA to identify the land and come out with the proposals within one month.
The idea is to complete the truck terminals with all facilities by the time the outer ring road is completed. The terminals will be owned and developed by the HUDA.
Nearly 1.5 lakh trucks arrive in the city and outskirts everyday.
The Chief Minister also wanted the officials to plan for Bus terminals near the inner ring road, preferably between ORR and inner ring road for out-station buses, an official release said.
