New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) The BJP today questioned the government over reports that Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia was also holding positions in a World Bank Commission and the Institute of International Finance in the United States.

Addressing newspersons, former Finance Minister and former External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said that the party had no objections if Mr Ahluwalia was a member of the World Bank's Commission of Development and Poverty. But the party would definitely like to know how he could be a trustee on the Institute of International Finance which was a private organisation, he said.

Mr Sinha said the Government must inform the people of the country whether Mr Ahluwalia had taken its permission to be a representative on both the bodies and who was bearing the expenditures on his visits to these bodies.
