J'hand HC reserves its verdict in Abhishek's death case
Ranchi, Feb 5 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today reserved the order regarding granting permission of CBI inquiry into the death of Abhishek Mishra, Mesra at the Dasham falls, 40 kms away from here.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy and Justice Permod Kohli passed the order while hearing a writ petition (court of its own motion).
Mr S C Mishra, father of Abhishek, had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court and urged a CBI inquiry into his son's death.
Earlier, the Court had appointed Rajeev Ranjan as the amicus curie of the case. Mr Ranjan had already submitted the photographs and CDs of Abhisek Mishra, which have been telecast by different television channels.
Adovcate General S B Garodia pleaded before the Court on behalf of the state government and Mr Ranjan appeared before the Court.
The Court took suo-moto action in the case after receiving letter of Mr Mishra who had demanded an inquiry by independent agency into the matter.
Abhishek's body was fished out from Dasham falls two months ago where he along with his friends including Ragini, daughter of Railway minister Lalu Prasad went for picnic. He was studying in Birla Institute of Technology in Ranchi.
