CTC, Dust varieties of tea in demand in Kolkata tea market

Kolkata, Feb 5 (UNI) CTC and Dust varieties of tea were the movers and shakers in the Kolkata tea market last week.

The Kolkata Tea Market report released today said all the CTC, Orthodox, Darjeeling and Dust varieties of tea maintained good demand. However, the stalky variety of the Orthodox tea was withdrawn.

Around 101,201 packages of CTC tea were sold followed by 30,130 packages of Dust and 9,189 packages of Orthodox. However, the Darjeeling tea sold the least number of packages at 2,438.

While the CTC received fair support from Tata Tea and the Middle East and CIS shipper lended good support to Orthodox variety of tea.
