Coalition government to retain power in Manipur: Ibobi

Imphal, Feb 5 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today claimed his Congress led Secular Progressive Front government would retain power in the 60-member assembly.

Polls in Manipur vill be held on February 8, 14, and 23.

He, however, claimed that SPF's one of the major allies- CPI may not get many seats this time.

He said his Congress party would get maximum number of seats among the coalition partners.

He also ridiculed Opposition's claim that the ruling front would lose power at the hustings.

Addressing two public meetings at Thoubal and Imphal along with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Mr Singh said the BJP, NCP, RJD and other parties may not even open their account in Manipur this time.

The Manipur People's Party one of the oldest regional party was making false promises as it knows that it will not come to power he added. He further listed the success and achievements of his government in Manipur and appealed to support his party.
