Alapuzha, Kerala, Feb 5 (UNI) Kerala today termed the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's verdict as ''disappointing'' and said the state would think about taking legal steps to earn a fair share for it.

''The Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's verdict is not judicious.

A decision on giving an appeal against the verdict would be taken up after discussions with legal experts,'' Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told newspersons here.

State Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran, who was also here said the state had not been awarded the due quantum of water. Noting that the assessors assigned by the Tribunal had recommended a greater share to the state, he alleged that the Tribunal had not considered the recommendation of experts while pronouncing the verdict.

Mr Premachandran also said that a decision whether to go in for an appeal would be decided after consulting legal experts.

Kerala had demanded 99.8 tmc ft from the Cauvery system. However the tribunal had awarded only 30 tmc ft.
