Pay Rs 22.25 lacs to villagers CRPF told by authorities in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 3 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has directed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to pay Rs 22.25 lakhs to the villagers whose houses were damaged by them after a militant attack on January 23 in south Kashmir.
Official sources said the Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, has asked the CRPF to remit the amount to the administration as compensation for the victims.
The villagers had alleged that CRPF personnel set on fire some houses at Braw Bandina village in Pulwama district on January 23 after a mine blast killed four personnel and wounded other four.
Police have also registered a case against the CRPF for setting ablaze the houses.
The CRPF had also announced that the victims would be compensated.
