Hooda announces Rs 1 lakh per annum for CBSE topper

Chandigarh, Feb 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that Rs one lakh per annum would be given to Vipul Gupta, who topped in the country in CBSE matriculation examination, for pursuing his higher studies.

Mr Hooda made this announcement at his residence after giving away a laptop to Vipul Gupta who topped the CBSE examination in 2005-06 as a student of DAV Public School at Thermal Power Plant in Panipat.

He said Vipul had brought laurels for the state by securing 98.6 per cent marks in the matriculation examination.

Vipul told the Chief Minister that he would like to pursue his studies in Engineering stream from IIT, Delhi, and after that he would like to compete for Indian Administrative Services.
