Shimla, Feb 3: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said Madhur Bhandarkar's latest movie ''Traffic Signal'' will not be screened in the theatres of the state if derogatory reference to the ''Kinners'' in the movie was not dropped.

''The reference to Kinners as enunchs in the movie is objectionable since Scheduled Tribe people residing in Kinnuar district of the state are referred to as 'kinners','' he told reporters here.

The film had created a controversy in Kinnuar district of the state following reference to local people in the film as eunuchs with several renowned people from the district threatening legal action against the film producers.

Mr Singh said the film producers would have to drop derogatory reference to the Kinners, or else the state government would ban the screening of the movie in the theaters of the state.

''The kinners are an inalienable part of the society and any derogatory reference to them from anyone was an insult to the people of the entire state,'' he said.

Referring to state BJP president, Jai Ram Thakur, yesterday's claim that Shimla district administration had refused permission to the party to hold a rally at the local Ice Skating Rink Ground here, he said it was in the habit of raking up controversies where none existed.

''Instead of crying hoarse over the issue, they (BJP) should have booked the place earlier for their scheduled rally here on March six.''

Mr Singh said during former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tour of Himachal a few years ago, the party had failed to book a venue for his rally at Mandi town. As a gesture towards the prime minister of the country, the Congress party had then decided to hand over its venue to the BJP for allowing its rally in the town, he said.

He said the BJP would do better to get its house in order than pointing fingers at others.

The Chief Minister said his autobiography has evinced keen interest from the publishers who were coming forward to get it printed.

''It will, however, not be possible for me to say when it will be completed and get into print. One thing is clear that I will spare none and only the truth will get into print,'' he added.
