Actress Lila Gandhi selected for Anant Mane Award

Kolhapur, Feb 2: Veteran Marathi film and stage actress Ms Lila Gandhi has been selected for this year's late Anant Mane Award instituted by Lokmanch Charitable Trust, Kolhapur.

Making the announcement at a press conference here today, Trust Chairman Sunil Modi said the Trust had instituted the award last year in memory of renowned Marathi film producer/director late Anant Mane to honour Marathi film personalities for their outstanding contribution to the industry.

Ms Gandhi will be honoured with the award at a function to be organised at Shahu Khasbag wrestling arena on February 11.

The actor famous for her 'Lavanis'(Marathi folk dance) in Marathi films, started her career in 1951 with the film 'Ram Ram Pavhana'. She has so far acted in about 75 films, besides dramas.
