Two police officers arrested for taking bribe
Bangalore, Feb 2 (UNI) The Karnataka Lok Ayukta police today trapped two police officers while receiving a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a temple priest to show official favour, here.
A Lok Ayukta release here said the city division Lok Ayukta police received a complaint from a priest, Ramesh Bhat, against whom the Siddapur police have booked a case for allegedly performing false homas and giving false assurances to devotees. Police had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from Bhat, who was out on bail, to settle the case.
Bhat approached the Lok Ayukta police, following which a trap was laid and Siddapur Inspector Ramaiah and Head Constable C V Krishne Gowda were caught red handed while accepting the bribe and arrested.
