Su-Raj diamonds expands its Bangalore facility

Bangalore, Feb 2: Su-Raj Diamonds and Jewellery, India's leading player in gems and jewellery industry, has expanded its activities in the city by opening an exclusive factory outlet and a state-of-the-art product development centre at its facility near the electronics city.

Briefing newsmen here Su-Raj Chairman and Managing Director Jatin R Mehta said the jewellery sold at this outlet would offer value for money, with guaranteed purity, excellent craftsmanship with strict quality control norms and came with an excellent buy-back policy.

The range of products offered from this outlet would be exclusive and specially developed by in house design team. The PDC was aimed at catering to the latest design trends and technology demands of the global market, he added saying that an investment of Rs 12 crore was made on the centre.

Replying to queries he said a new jewellery manufacturing unit would be opened at Mapusa near Goa in six months at a cost of Rs 50 crore. The company had integrated entire spectrum of gems and jewellery business by creating facilities at various important centres in the country.

Answering a question he said the revenue in jewellery business was expected to cross Rs 1750 crore from the present Rs 1250 crore. Main focus would be on the international markets and the export growth reflected the company's strategy in the United States of America and the European markets which was growing steadily. A growth rate of 35-45 per cent was kept as a target in coming years for jewellery export to the US, Britain and Middle East, he added saying that nearly 70-80 per cent of export went towards the Middle East countries.
