Shillong: Shiva temple gutted in Mawmluh village

Shillong, Feb 2: One of the oldest Shiva temple in Meghalaya was gutted at Mawmluh village, about 60 km from here, police source said today.

The temple reportedly caught fire following a short-circuit.

Press reports in Meghalaya reported nevertheless that the temple was desecrated by miscreants. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police A R Mawthoh denied the reports and said it was a case of short-circuit.

Further investigation is on, he added.
