Shiva temple gutted at Mawmluh village

Shillong, Feb 2: One of the oldest Shiva temple in Meghalaya was gutted at Mawmluh village, about 60 km from here, police source said today.

The temple was reportedly set on fire following a short-circuit.

Press reports in Meghalaya nevertheless reported that the temple was descreated by miscreants.East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police A R Mawthoh denied that and said it was a case of short- circuit.

Further investigation is on, he added.
