Nithari victims' parents taken to AIIMS; Circle officer shifted
Noida, Feb 2 (UNI) Even as the CBI took some families of the the victims of Nithari serial killings to the AIIMS for DNA tests, the Uttar Pradesh transferred Noida Circle Officer Dinesh Yadav to Agra after a sting operation related to the case.
The families were also brought face-to-face with the alleged murderers-- Moninder Singh Pandher and his servant Surender Koli-- at the CBI headquarters before being taken to AIIMS.
Sources said the Circle officer was shifted after sting operation by 'Tehelka' and 'Star News' brought to light a possible nexus between politicians and the police investigating the murders.
In the sting operation, the key players under the scanner included Uttar Pradesh PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav - the brother of UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav - and Samajwadi Party MP Ravi Prakash Verma, as well as Dinesh Yadav, the Circle Officer at Nithari.
They were accused of major lapses -- essentially of doing nothing when the gruesome Nithari killings were taking place.
The families were taken to AIIMS by the Uttar Pradesh Police for obtaining DNA samples to be matched with those from skeletal remains found in a drain near Pandher's house at Nithari.
The parents and siblings of victims were taken to AIIMS on the directions of the CBI, which is not satisfied with the results of DNA tests conducted earlier at a local hospital.
The DNA samples were taken after the families of victims consented to the CBI demand, sources said.
Police in Noida had taken blood samples from parents of the victims on January 6.
