National seminar on Industrial Gases begins

Kochi, Feb 2 (UNI) Kerala Governor R L Bhatia inaugurated a two-day national seminar on Industrial Gases here today.

Addressing a gathering, he said the industrial gas sector should be a partner in economic development as its contribution is pivotal to the nation's growth.

Although the sector witnessed growth due to globalisation, there was a need to streamline its activities, he said.

The Governor said the seminar's theme, 'Safety and Costumer Service and Enhance Productivity', would be a perfect platform for scientists and researchers for analysing problems and challenges in the sector.

He urged captains of the industry to upgrade manufacturing facilities, quality of products and safety norms of the sector.

Speaking on the occasion, the All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers' Association (AIIGMA) president Siddharth A Patel said papers on various aspects of the sector would be presented by experts, including foreign delegates in the field.

The 29th national seminar, organised by the AIIGMA is supported by the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry.
