Barwani, MP, Feb 2 (UNI) Amidst a few incidents of communal tension in Madhya Pradesh, a glowing example of harmony has surfaced in this district where some Muslim youths came to the rescue of Hindu bus passengers.

Passengers on the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's Amalner-Indore bus were in a fix when the vehicle was suddenly halted near Sendhwa town on Wednesday during a 'tajia' immersion procession.

After considerable difficulty, the bus had gone only a small distance when a few boys in a white van stopped it, accused the driver of causing problems for the processionists and began assaulting him. Stone-pelting also began.

''The panes were shattered and we passengers hid under the seats,'' said Advocate Shailendra Pawar who was journeying from Maharashtra's Shirpur to Dewas along with his wife and daughter.

At that juncture, some Muslim youths reached the spot, reprimanded the miscreants, drove them away and assured the passengers that they were not in danger. When the petrified driver refused to take the wheel, one of the youths drove the bus to a safe location two km from Sendhwa. Afterwards, the driver took the wheel.
