Maharastra Municipal Corporation election results

Mumbai, Feb 2: Maharastra Municipal Corporation elections, counting is under way . Following is the party position in the elections held yesterday.

SS-BJP emerging largest in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Shiv Sena-BJP wins the Pune civic poll, Sena - BJP lead in Thane, Nasik and Ullasnagar. Congress suffers a set back in Maharashtra polls.

In Nagpur BJP won 13 seats. Party Position at 1100 hrs in Nagpur - Congress - 9 BJP - 13 NCP - 2 RJD - 2 Shiv Sena - 2 RPI - 1 Indendent - 3 --- Total: 32

Out of the 23 results declared so farin Thane, the Shiv Sena won 12 seats whereas its alliance partner the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) won three seats in the Thane Municipal Corporation elections. The Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) claimed victory on eight seats.
