Mob damage rail track protesting killing of villager in encounter
Hazaribagh, Feb 2 (UNI) Agitated over the killing of a villager by security forces at Kole Potal village under Keredari police station, angry mob damaged Patratu-Hindegiri railway track today, paralysing communication on the route in the district.
Superintendent of Police Praveen Singh said here last night that two CPI (Maoist) ultras were nabbed, and based on their information, a joint team of police and CRPF went to the village to catch the third accomplice.
As the security forces opened fire, the bullet hit Lalkoo Mahto, the relative of targetted ultra Mankoo Mahto.
Angry villagers immediately damaged the railway track that paralysed traffic on the route.
Police said inquiry would be conducted and financial assistance extended to the bereaved family.
