MCD seals DJB's bank account
New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) In an unprecedented move, Municipal Corporation of Delhi today sealed the bank accounts of Delhi Jal Board, alleging property tax amounting to Rs 140 crore is pending against it for a long time.
The Corporation Bank account of DJB in Karol Bagh branch was sealed, leading to recovery of Rs 19.6 crore, a statement said.
The Syndicate Bank account of the Board in Jhandewalan Branch was also sealed, leading to recovery of Rs 12 crore.
MCD, however, did not seal the salary and GPF accounts of DJB employees.
