Kalmadi acknowledges people's verdict with ''great humility''

Pune, Feb 2 (UNI) Local congress MP Suresh Kalmadi, who led the election campaign for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), said he acknowledged the people's verdict with ''great humility''.

Reacting to the surprise results of PMC here this evening, Mr Kalmadi said he took the people's mandate with ''great humility.'' In the polls, the Congress got a rude shock from NCP, which ousted the it.

Noting that the Congress ruled the Pune civic body for over a decade, Mr Kalmadi said that now it will sit in the opposition and serve the people.

''I would endeavour all my efforts towards for the development of the city in my capacity,'' he added.
