New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) JSW Steel Ltd today posted a 25 per cent growth in crude steel production in January at 2.58 lakh tonnes.

The HR Plate production at 0.17 lakh tonnes showed a rise of 144 per cent while the HR Coil production at 2.33 lakh tonnes jumped by 20 per cent.

The company attributed this growth in production to capacity enhancement carried out by it during early FY07.

However, the production in pellet plant and galvanising facilities in the month was lower compared to January 2006.

The company is engaged in manufacture of flat products like H R Coils, C R Coils, galvanised products and auto grade/white goods grade CRCA Steel.

The JSW group, part of the four-billion-dollar O P Jindal Group, has diversified interest in mining, carbon steel, power, industrial gases and port facilities.
