Jawan arrested for militant links in J

Jammu, Feb 2 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested another Army jawan for his alleged links with militants at Banola in Mendhar tehsil in the border district of Poonch, official sources said.

The sources said after confirmation of militant links of the army jawan, Shamim Ahmed son of Sain Mohammad, a resident of Banola, Mendhar, was arrested from his residence.

Army sources said Shamim was posted in JAK LI Centre in Srinagar. He was reported to have developed links with militants during his posting in the Valley, sources added.

Sources said two mobile telephones were recovered from the jawan who was on a month's long leave. Shamim is being sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) for questioning.

Three army jawans have been arrested from Mendhar and Surankote in the same district for their alleged links with the militants last year.
