Inquiry into harassment of girl students
Bhopal, Feb 2 (UNI) An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged harassment of girl students in the state capital's Aurobindo Nursing College.
The inquiry, ordered by Principal Secretary (Medical Education) M M Upadhyay, would be conducted by Registrar (Nursing) Anju Bhadoria.
A meeting of college management, victim students and their parents had also been called on February 7 in an attempt to bring them face to face and sort out the issue.
Mr Upadhyay told UNI that Bhopal Collector S K Mishra had informed him last evening that complaints had been received from parents that the girls had been forcibly detained and harassed in the hostel.
The Principal Secretary said necessary action would be taken on the basis of the findings of the report.
''On receiving information in this regard, Sub-Divisional Officer R S Damle and other senior officials reached the spot and held discussions with the girls and parents,'' Mr Mishra said.
Mr Manoj Sahu is the director of the nursing college, which is affiliated to the Barkatullah University.
The girls alleged that the hostel warden stops them from going outside and the main gates were locked after 1700 hrs. More than 30 students stay in the hostel.
