IAF air-to-ground firing exercise extended

Gwalior, Feb 2 (UNI) The Indian Air Force's air-to-ground firing exercise, at the local Singpur Range, has been extended by a month and will conclude on February 28, official sources said.

District Collector Rakesh Shrivastav permitted the Maharajpura Air Force base to go ahead with the exercise on the condition that the officers would take the responsibility for the safety of the area's residents.

The village panchayats, sarpanchs, other people's representatives and villagers will have to be informed seven days prior to the launching of the exercise. Besides, bomb remnants are to be removed immediately.

Sub-divisional magistrates of Gwalior and Dabra and tehsildars have been directed to take action for preventing villagers from entering the range during the live fire exercise.
