Hyundai Italian dealers visit HMI facility

Chennai, Feb 02 (UNI) An Italian Hyundai dealers delegation headed by Giulio Del Pietro, Vice-Chairman Hyundai Automobile, Italy visited the Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur.

As the sole dealer of Hyundai in Italy, Hyundai Automobili Italia Importazioni SpA, has placed an order of 9,000 units to be supplied in the next six months, a company release said here today.

Italy is a major market for Hyundai Motor India. The Italian market offers huge growth potential. The cars, which are exported to Italy have to be customized to adhere to the standard European Union (EU) norms of safety and emission.

Italy imports all the brands from the Hyundai stable, the most popular car being the 'Hyundai Getz.' Other brands in the C and C plus segment are also quite popular with the consumers in Italy.

Managing Director, Hyundai Motors India Limited H S Lheem, said "The automobile market in Italy has a huge demand for diesel run cars." Hyundai will roll out the Getz Diesel version soon and be able to supply to Italy in the near future, he said adding the engine for the same will be developed in-house by R and D of Hyundai Motors, Korea."
