HP Gvt rattled by BJP's rally of March six: Jai Ram

Shimla, Feb 2 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh BJP today accused the state government of refusing it permission to hold a rally here on March six, alleging it was rattled by the party's rally.

The Shimla district administration has refused permission to the party to hold a rally at the local Ice Skating Rink ground here on March six which was to highlight the all-round failure of the state government, which was completing its six years in office on that date, state party president Jai Ram Thakur said in a release here.

He said the administration had refused permission to the party on the plea that the Congress party had already booked the ground on March five, six and seven, while the ruling party had not planned any activity on the three days.

Accusing the state government of resorting to devious means to scuttle the party's rally, Mr Thakur said it was afraid of coming face to face with the people who would question its functioning over the last four years.

Denying permission to the party to hold rally was indicative of the state government's nervousness and realisation that the people had already decided to vote this government out of power, he said.

The BJP president said the four years of the present Congress Government would be remembered for scams, widespread corruption, spiralling prices of essential commodities and treachery with the unemployed youth who were promised jobs.
