HC stays regularisation of teachers

Allahabad, Feb 2 (UNI) A division bench of Allahabad High Court has stayed the provision of regularisation of teachers made recently by way of third amendment in the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Services Commission Act for teachers working on honorarium basis in degree colleges affiliated with universities.

A two-judge bench comprising Justice Harkauli and Justice Pankaj Mithal passed the order after hearing both the parties yesterday.

The petitioner had alleged this kind of regularisation will be violative to the provisions of article 14 and 16 of the constitution of India.

The court granted a month's time to the state government to file a counter affidavit in this case.

The petitioner had also challenged the validity of the aforesaid amendment. The court will hear this case after a month.
