Gujarat Ambuja Q4 net rises to Rs 338 crore

Mumbai, Feb 2: Cement major Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 337.76 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 87.90 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) is Rs 1,369.36 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, whereas the same was at Rs 765.56 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

As per the Audited results for the 18 months ended December 31, 2006, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 1,503.25 crore and a total income (net of excise) at Rs 6,381.95 crore for the year ended December 31, 2006.

However, the results for the calendar year ended December 31, 2006, have been arrived at by aggregating quarterly results of the company (including results of erstwhile ACEL, merged with the company with effect from January 1, 2006), same has been given for the information only. Previous Calendar Year ended December 31, 2005, figures have not been presented as these are not comparable.
