Rajgarh (MP), Feb 2: With improvement in the situation, curfew clamped in Bioara town in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district was relaxed for two hours from 0700 hours today.

''No untoward incident has been reported during curfew relaxation and the situation was totally under control'', District Collector G P Tiwari told sources.

Curfew was clamped on Wednesday following arson and violence when about a dozen shops were ransacked and few vehicles torched as communal tension arose after removal of posters relating to a religious congregation.

While people in large number thronged the market to purchase essential commodities during the curfew relaxation, long queues were seen at petrol outlets and even at handpumps as the town was already facing severe water crisis.

Mr Tiwari said about 60 people had been arrested so far in connection with the violent incidents and 43 of them had been sent to jail. Police patrolling continued in sensitive areas, he added.
