Court frames charges against police officials in graft case
New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) A special CBI court today framed charges against two police officials in a ten-year-old graft case.
Special CBI judge G P Mittal framed charges against then Kalyanpuri SHO S P Rana and Additional SHO Narender Singh for demanding and accepting a bribe from complainant--Sant Ram.
On January 12, 1997, the accused were arrested for accepting Rs 50,000 from a constable on behalf of the complainant.
They had fixed the bribe amount at Rs 1.5 lakh for allowing Sant Ram to construct additional rooms in his house in Ghazipur area.
Earlier, the court had acquitted the accused on the grounds that CBI had not acquired permission to prosecute them.
