Congress-NCP realise the strength of RPI: Athavale
Mumbai, Feb 2 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) president Ramdas Athavale today said that though his party did not get much success, the dalit voters had spurned both Congress and NCP.
The verdict of the ten corporations have shown to both Congress and NCP that Republican Party of India has got its own strength, Mr Athavale said in a release issued here.
The RPI, which is sharing power in the state with Congress-NCP, contested the corporation elections independently.
The party has got five seats in Ulhasnagar, three each in Mumbai and Nasik, two in Amravati, while one each in Nagpur, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Solapur.
