CM drafts chargesheet against his own Govt: NCP

Pathanamthitta, Feb 2 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Kerala President K Muraleedharan today said Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan was doing the job of preparing ''charge sheet'' against his own government.

Inaugurating the district convention of NCP, he said the Chief Minister was finding fault with his Cabinet colleagues and was criticising top officials without any proof.

Mr Muraleedharan said on the cardamom forest land issue, the LDF government was following a blatant anti-farmer policy which would lead to eviction of thousands of farmers. The government had ''betrayed'' the hard-pressed farmers by filing an affidavit in the Kerala High Court saying that cardamom plantation was done on the forest land.

He alleged that the overall security scenario in the state was dismal and bleak. Arms smuggling had become a flourishing business now, he said, adding the LDF government merely stood helpless without taking stern measures against anti-national elements.
