AP police tackling naxals successfully : DGP

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh's Director General Police (DGP) MA Basith today said the state police was tackling the naxal menace successfully and it would continue to curb the violent activities of the extremists.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Basith said the police was taking stringent steps to curb the naxal activities with the support of other naxal infested states. Greyhound department would be strengthened further to face the naxals, he added.

Stating that the activities of the CPI(Maoists) had not been reduced even after its cadre was weakened after a series of steps taken by the police, he said the police were also studying the activities of Jehadi groups in the State.
