Allahabad HC directs state govt. to decide on sanction issue
Allahabad, Feb 2 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today directed the state government and other officers concerned to take a decision on the sanction on prosecution of UP State Electritcity Board superintending engineer G D Singh on corruption charges within three weeks.
The investigation against Mr Singh has been completed and the sanction is pending before the state government.
The Bench comprising Justices Amar Saran and R N Mishra passing this order, have directed the inspector of Vigilance Department to be present in the court on the next fixed date and file an affidavit sworn by the director vigilance. The court has also asked for details about the status of other cases, which are pending for sanction with the state government.
The inspector vigilance had appeared in the court and informed the Bench that since December 1, 2003 application for sanction on prosecution is pending with the state government in the case of petitioner.
