37 kg charas and heroin seized in Kashmir, 4 held
Srinagar, Feb 2: Jammu and Kashmir police have seized 36 kg of charas and one kg heroin and arrested four smugglers during the past 24 hours, official sources said.
They said police, acting on a specific information, raided a house at frontier district of Kupwara and recovered one kg heroin worth Rs one crore at the international market. One smuggler was taken into custody, the sources added.
Police during a routine checking also sezied 35 kg of charas from a truck on way to Udhampur last night. The driver and conductor of the truck have been arrested.
The Police also seized one kg charas at Chogul, Handwara, from a smuggler Mohmmad Salim, a resident of Agartala last night. He has been arrested, the sources added.
