10 yrs' RI for opium smuggling

Ratlam, MP, Feb 2 (UNI) A special court has sentenced two people to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment and fined them Rs one lakh each.

According to prosecution, Amritsar-residents Harjind Singh (42) and Surjeet Singh (28) were arrested on June 26, 2003 and 5.4 kg opium seized from them.

Judge Abhay Kumar Saxena delivered the verdict yesterday.
