Tata AIG Life launches 'Health Quotient'

Bangalore, Feb 1 (UNI) Tata AIG Life Insurance Company Limited, in association with the Indian Medical Association, Mumbai, today launched 'Health Quotient'- a unique index developed to measure and quantify health parameters.

Talking to newsmen here, TATA AIG Life Vice President (Accident and Health) Sujata Dutta said that the 'Health Quotient' was a first-of-its-kind health care initiative that sought to raise awarness about increasing health hazards that were limited to shortcomings in the lifestyles of people.

It had been developed considering the health standards as subtested by the IMA and insurability parameters recommended by the company.

Replying to a question, she however, said it would not be applied for giving insurance policy by the company. ''This is an initiative to create awarness about health among the public. Anybody can apply and check their health and lifestyle even if they are not policy holders''.

IMA , Mumbai, President Dr Sunita Kshirsagar, who was also present, said that ''the increasing pressures of urban life have increased our vulnerability to various ailments. Hence, there is a greater need to raise awareness about ailments linked to unhealthy and stressful lifestyles.'' UNI
