Policy on ground handling in civilian airports cleared
New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) today cleared the policy on ground handling in civilian airports, providing for minimum of three ground handling agents and their subsidiaries, including Air India and Indian.
The three ground handlers should be an agent or its subsidiary, subsidiary of Air India/Indian, and those selected through competitive bidding, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told reporters after the CCS meeting.
He said every ground handler had to sign a security protocol attached to the policy.
He clarified that te policy did not apply to defence airports.
