Kanchi Kamakoti to perform 'bhoomi pooja' in temlple town

Tirupati, Feb 1 (UNI) Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswathi and Sankara Vijeyendra Saraswathi will perform ''Bhoomi Pooja'' for the Rs 80 crore worth Sri Padmavathi Medical College and Teaching Hospital (SPMCTH) near Renigunta, about five km from here on February 4.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on January 18 between Kanchi Mutt representative Siva Sambo and TTD's Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) Director Dr Subramanyam.

The hospital would be constructed in 60 acres of land provided by the state government and in the first phase the Kanch Mutt would spend nearly 40 crore for the construction of the hospital.
